Industry Training

Disability Industry Training Services will be delivering an accredited course called "Disability & Tourism". This accredited course will be tailored specifically for the Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Sectors.

The course will be fully accredited and nationally recognized and will address the gaps that exist in the current training packages.

The units of competency that have been identified will be included in the course and are as follows:-

• - Develop and manage marketing strategies
• - Promote products and services to customers
• - Develop and update tourism industry knowledge
• - Provide mentoring support to business colleagues

The course will be approximately 120 hours and will be available by registering your interest online or by phone and a disk will be posted to you. Information will include a manual, power point and assessment instrument. On completion of training participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in Tourism that will give participants the skills to service and specialise in this area.

Management and small business will be able to promote with confidence, services to people with disabilities and the aged in travel, tourism and hospitality, resulting in a very needed and neglected service being addressed. Turnover will improve substantially, resulting in increased profits.

The training will also assist business by providing a link with key stakeholders in these sectors.
